Beast In Customer Service

1. CD-R King. I was in SM last week to buy some CDs and DVDs. I was about to get my priority number but found out that nihubas na ang ilang butanganan. But I guess I was fortunate enough coz there was this old woman (gikapot na tingali to siyag huwat) which gave her number to me. It read 27. And they are serving 15. Meaning, next batch nako. But at least kay 1-50 ra sila. After 25 minutes (more or less), gitawag na akong number. Daghan man gud pud ang wala pagtawag nila (siguro giapangkapoy na). Ug sa dihang binundakay ang show. I don't understand why they have to show to their customers that they are annoyed... Ug kung gikapoy sila, nganong apilon man ang customer. Kinahanglan na gyud na nila i-overhaul ilang system of serving their customers para mas dali, efficient and dili mag-antos ang mga mamalitay.
2. Capitol Post Office. Kani, grabee gyud ni. It caused a heartache gyud. Pirte nako kapungot ani kay nagdali ko bah nga makapadala sa mga newspaper to the LPP. I went there twice. First in the morning but ABSENT daw ang in-charge so wala. I went back in the afternoon only to be told that I can't buy the stamps 'coz busy ang in-charge (nag-audit ang in-charge). i asked if kinsa man pwede mu-take charge coz after all, it is a post office. Ug sa dihang giingnan ko nga dili pwede kay walay lain nga pwede mubaligya! What the f*^*k! Ana diay nah? maypa manira na lang sila. I went back there ganiha. Wala nay available na 20-denomination said the in-charge. Ug sa dihang pwede ra diay nga dili stamp kay naa silay sticker! Pasabta ko! Nganong wala naman lang gyud ko ingna nga nila ana. Kinahanglan pa gyud ko magbalik-balik??? Are we going to blame it on the system again? Or tapulan ug walay initiative lang gyud sila. Nah! If makasuway mo anang naa sa window nga babaye kay maPikal gyud ka. Murag nakaminos. Isog kaayo nga murag dili musugot nga mu-mail ka. Sakto man unta sila sa weldo. Unsay problema? Tapulan lang gyud ug wala kaila kung unsa ang SERVICE.
   

Kani lang sa tingali kay naghuna-huna pa ko sa uban. Mao lang ni anag naka-paulbo sa akong kaspa last week.

But last night, on our way home, nalingaw ko sa istorya nga mga ungo-ungo ni Sir Sam. Hay! Mao nga duha ka hugna ang akong pag-suka...

in Medellin, we had a ground breaking ceremony of Martin Salimbangon's Training Center, then we head to their complex for various project donations. I saw Vera there. Then, last stop was in Medellin National High School for a school building inauguration.

Last holy week, I was in Malapascua Island for the very first Mayor Sun J. Shimura Beach Volley Open. It was actually my first time to be there and despite the fact that I have phobia crossing bodies of water, I summon all my courage to go with the CEVA officers (the organizers). I had a very busy week that i wasn't able to check on my online accounts. Plus, our friendster account here in the office has been going nuts coz we could not log-in. Instead, we are directed to somebody else account (hahahaha) where we can access his/her messages and all... and so I did not dare to check my account.

Last March 12 and 13, I went to Bantayan Island for various projects. We inaugurated classrooms and roads, turned-over vehicles to towns, and launched the ECCD.

Despite the fact that I was working, it was like a short vacation for me. Just seeing the beaches, seeing new faces, going to Bantayan's dried fish market and going home with two bottles of dayok (fish intestine, salted) is already a great summer vacation in the middle of work. Mabaw ra man pud gud ko og kalipay!

I saw a lot of happy faces and some tears. I even met a fellow Upian, Jane Lao, who was a Gurong Pahinungod assigned in Patao National High School. I was so happy to see her even though we are just batch mates and not really that close. I actually quoted her in one of my stories.

'Mangirig tang tanan'

Tobma. Nikatay 30 ka kilometro ang kasaba tungod sa usa ka superstar. Maayo na lang kay wala mi makakuyog didto sa San Remigio. Kay kung nahitabo pa mas grabe ang pag-kirig sa mga tawo.

Ug sa dihang i received a call nga mas mukirig pa gyud ang makadungog:

I am afraid of responsibility. Yes. It would be an upgrade for myself. An opportunity but I am not yet ready for it. I have talked with the boss and said that he wants it to be my call, my decision. Part of me wants to say yes, the other no.

But I said NO. Although it would open a lot of possibilities for me to venture and explore what I can do. But still, I am afraid. I am now happy, contented and enjoying what I am doing right now. Writing and taking photos has become a part of my system already that it would be hard to let got of it.

So long... hmmm I wonder what those people might say... Lol.

March is supposed to be a fire prevention month. Last Wednesday (March 5), Brgy. Tabunok and a part of San Isidro was razed by fire... And a day after that dreadful afternoon, here's what I found:

Lechon and more lechons

Today is a monday and it means waking up early to catch the flag ceremony but I was able to skip it because we have to travel to Borbon for the turn-over and blessing of the rehabiltation on CAmposong Elementary School.

So wala ko namahaw kay nagdali lagi. Lami pa naman unta kaayo ang giluto ni mama but got to hurry for work. But breakfast was fun coz when we arrived in Borbon, gisugat gyud mig plato. Inasal jud dayon galore! Bisan palpak gamay ang ilang program kay nag-tinanga ang mga teachers sa ilang program kay carry ra man pud. Wala man gisapot ang babaye.

For the past three weeks kay cge lang mig adto sa mga classroom inaugurations. Lingaw kay makakita gyud ka sa mga faces sa mga bata how happy they are na naa na sila new classrooms and pretty pa gyud kaayo kay pink ang pintal. Hehehehe Vain classrooms...

Anyways, back to Borbon... louy ang mga pupils kay nagtalisik pero matod pa ni Sir Sam: "Mawagtang ra na ang talisik inig bunok sa uwan." To read the full story of my Borbon trip, kay click here (pangita lang sa archive in case wala na siya sa front page).

After the program,we had our lunch ug sa dihang LECHON napud! Na hala! Cge go... We then head to San Fernando in Taiheiyo Cement Corporation... and guess what? Lechon na pud for snacks.

Ug pag-uli napud sa office, kay birthday man lagi ni kUya rOonie last march 1, nagCelebrate mi... sa dihang ang gpalit nila nga sud-an kay lechon baboy napud...

And so, it was a lechon day for me.

Museum Caravan held in Cebu

GIVING importance on the promotion of tourism and culture, the Philippine Association of Museums Inc. (PAMI) held its 8th biennial convention and caravan in Cebu last February 28-29.

This is the 2nd leg of their caravan under the theme, “Museo ng Bayan: Bridging Museums and Sustainable Communities” which is supported by Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, the Department of Tourism and the Visayas Association of Museums and Group Inc. (VAMGI).

Gina Barte, President of PAMI, said they are using a holistic approach in the conservation of museums: making the whole community a museum itself, or what they call as an eco-museum. During the welcome dinner hosted by the Cebu Provincial Government, she also expressed how thankful she is for the governor’s all-out support in their endeavor.

One of Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia’s focus since she assumed office is the preservation of Cebu’s heritage and culture. She established the Provincial Heritage and Tourism Council, which was vital in the roaring success of the SUROY-SUROY Sugbo and the restoration of historical structures like the newly opened Altar de Sacrificio in Argao (right photo- taken by reggie barrientos last february 14).

The two-day conference invited museum curators, local government units, NGOs, schools, as well as culture and the art sectors. Topics discussed were the development and management of community museums.

This was also a venue for the different towns and cities of Cebu province to learn ways in putting up their own museums.
